Having trained at Rycotewood College, I started my bespoke furniture company in 1985 as a cabinetmaker designing and making custom-made pieces.
I built up the business by word of mouth initially working for private clients.
Then I went on to make fine furniture for Linley, whilst continuing my own furniture commissions at the same time.
As my kitchens and bathroom business expanded, I built a large cabinet workshop and showroom at Cane End Works in Bierton, just outside Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire, which is where Simon Taylor Furniture has been located ever since.

Our designers will then arrange to safely visit you at your home or to meet with us at our showroom.
If you have plans and drawings, they will ask to look at those.
They will take a full brief from you and will discuss your needs and requirements in order to create a truly bespoke design for you.

Over the years, we have been privileged to have won or to have been shortlisted as finalists for a number of industry awards.
In 2015, we won an industry-wide competition to make a kitchen in association with Miele that was showcased at that year's Grand Designs Live exhibition.

We have also been finalists for two consecutive year at the Designer Awards and in 2019 we were honoured to win the British Design and Manufacturing Award and in 2020 for our Butlers Cross project and in 2020 we were finalists in the category of Ultimate Luxury Kitchen design of the Year for our Purley kitchen project.
